With school getting underway this week for many students in southeast Iowa that also means the beginning of the fall sports season.

For the Iowa Mennonite School, the varsity volleyball season begins on Thursday with a trip to Fairfield for a quad. IMS will compete with Albia, Eddyville-Blakesburg and the host Fairfield Trojans. While IMS doesn’t offer football, they do have some students who participate in the sport through an agreement with Clear Creek Amana. This season a pair of IMS juniors are expected to see plenty of action. Drake Brezina and Justin Litwiller are both expected to see action for the Clippers this season.

At Mid-Prairie, volleyball action begins today with the annual trip to the Keota tournament. Meanwhile the Golden Hawk football squad kicks off their season Friday night with a trip to Durant. You can hear Friday night’s game on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIRadio.com.
