Fall officially started at 9:49 this morning and weather forecasters are sharing predictions of the upcoming season.  Greg Tatro from Weather Eye says the Pacific Ocean currents will be turning into an El Niño pattern causing warmer than average temperatures and drier than normal conditions.  He adds the pattern is similar to what we saw last fall and winter.

Tatro says because of the chance for the warmer temps, there is a potential to see record highs during the fall and into the winter.  He notes the El Niño weather pattern that drives the upper level circulations in the atmosphere over the upper Midwest is predicted to last for several months.
