Record numbers took part in the Farm Safety Day held at the Washington County Fairgrounds last week. According to Amy Green, Washington 4-H and Youth Coordinator, 71 youth participated as well as 22 volunteers. The day is for students who have completed Kindergarten up to third grade where they break into small groups for different sessions, including animal safety, sun safety, tractor safety, PTO safety, grain safety, water safety, gun safety, and general first aid.

The camp was put on by the Washington County Extension Office with help from Sinclair Tractor, Rural Health and Safety, WCDC, Washington FFA, Mid-Prairie FFA, Washington Hospital and Clinics and Environmental Health.
