The month of March has been declared Flood Awareness Month by Governor Terry Branstad saying “It is important for Iowans to know the steps they can take to protect themselves and their property from future flood events.”  He says “the Flood Awareness Month campaign will help educate Iowans about resources available to minimize loss when flooding occurs.”  During this month, flood-related information and safety tips will be shared by officials from the Iowa Insurance Division, the Rebuild Iowa Office, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division.

KCII will be speaking with officials from the Rebuild Iowa Office during Tuesday’s In Touch With Southeast Iowa program regarding Flood Awareness Month.
