Between $55,000 and $65,000 worth of damage was experienced by Washington County roads. At Tuesday’s board of supervisors meeting, Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained between $30,000 and $40,000 in damage was done to gravel roads and anoth $25,000 in damage was done to Riverside Road and Dogwood Avenue, also known as W21 and W61.

To be eligible for FEMA $75,000 total in damage would need to be done to the gravel roads. Thorius adds they are still waiting for water to recede so they can check on a culvert. If the county is part of a Presidential disaster declaration the county would be eligible for funds to fix Riverside Road and Dogwood.

He does ask people to obey barricades when placed for their safety and to help preserve the condition of the road.
