Low pressure in Missouri will spread a band of freezing rain across much of the region today. Occasional light freezing rain or freezing drizzle will continue tonight. Ice accumulations of around 1/4 inch or less is expected for this event, with isolated 1/2 inch accumulations possible. There is the potential for power outages especially in areas of higher ice amounts. For most of the day temperatures will be in the 20s, but gradually rise to the lower 30s by late afternoon. A major storm system will impact the Midwest this weekend. Heavy rains of 1 to 2 inches are possible, and along with rapid snow melt, could lead to significant to major river flooding.
