The bridge on G38 over Dutch Creek east of Elm Avenue is being replaced. The bridge will close beginning Monday, April 11, and construction will likely continue until late fall. Detours will be in place.  Iowa Bridge and Culvert  of Washington was awarded the project at a cost of over $937,000. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius says the Highway Bridge Program and Farm to Market construction dollars will be used to pay for the project. He adds that his office realizes the closure will be inconvenient, but that the project will replace an older bridge and eliminate the need to post a weight restriction, ultimately making it easier for traffic to flow through the area.
