If you’ve been outside and seen the gnats, and even mosquitoes, then you know we have more insects in the area than usual for this time of the year. But the cause isn’t just the early spring. Hear about how winter, even though most people don’t like it, has benefits for the spring, including keeping bugs in check.

Ticks and Other Insects Get an Early Start

It’s spring and that means time to get outside and do yard work, or spend some time at a park. But you might have noticed more insects outside this year. Pam Holz with the Washington County Conservation Board says it’s not just because of the early start to spring.
