Corn and soybean harvest in southeast Iowa are ahead of the five-year average. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in southeast Iowa 64% of corn for grain has been harvested. At this time last year 23% of it was harvested statewide and the five-year average is 45%. In southeast Iowa, 84% of soybeans have been harvested, ahead of the five-year average of 72%.

Currently statewide corn for grain harvest is three weeks ahead of last year and two years ahead of average. The moisture content of field corn being harvested for grain remained at 16%. Iowa’s soybean harvest is three weeks ahead of last year and two weeks ahead of average.
