A group of middle school students aims to collect 5,000 diapers. The Washington Middle School Builders’ Club is hosting its second annual diaper drive. Eighth-grade students Taylor Bartholomew and Reagan Stouder tell KCII News that the goal is to help the community by donating these diapers to families who can use them. The pair said helping others is why they joined the club in the first place, Bartholomew said, “I wanted to join Builders Club because I heard that you can do things around our community. And I love working with others and being able to help people other than myself.” Stouder echoed that sentiment, “I joined Builders Club because I like helping the community and being a leader, and the Builders Club helps with that. And I love serving others.” The Builders Club is under the umbrella of Kiwanis.

Last year the middle school club was able to pass on just over 4,000 to local families. Donations of bags or boxes of diapers from size newborn to 6 can be dropped off at the middle school or YMCA. The donations will go to families in Washington County.
