The national I Dare You Leadership Award is presented each year to a senior 4-H member and is considered the highest honor given to Washington County 4-H youth; this year it went to three members. The American Youth Foundation presents the award to recognize personal integrity, balanced living, and potential for leadership. The three recipients are Ellie Todd, Leah Marek, and Sophie Bell. Todd is a member of the Washington Go Getters and Horse & Pony Clubs and completed a yearlong project for a new horse wash rack in 2019. Marek is a member of the Jackson Jets 4-H Club. Bell is a member of the Green Acres 4-H Club. All three also serve on the County Council.
