IMS proved how difficult it is to beat a team three times as they eliminated Lone Tree from post season girls basketball play last night with a 53-38 road win. The Lady Lions had defeated IMS twice in conference play by an average of 11 points. A see-saw first half saw Lone Tree dominate the boards but IMS took a 23-20 lead into the break. Out of the locker room IMS put together a 10-2 run to gain some breathing room, including a pair of threes by Kristin Davis. Lone Tree would get as close as seven with possession down the stretch but IMS came up with stops to halt the Lady Lion’s charge. IMS was led in the victory by Yutzy who tied a career high with 24 points, Davis had 13 and Lone Tree was led by Madelyn Flemr’s 12 points. Lone Tree ends their season at 9-13 overall, IMS improves to 4-19 overall and will be in regional quarterfinal action Tuesday at Lisbon, against the Lisbon Lions at 7PM. Lisbon enters play at 13-10 on the season.
