The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team has hit the glass, and the long ball during the first part of the season. Mid-Prairie currently ranks seventh in Class 2A with 286 total rebounds. They are sixth in the state with 102 boards on the offensive end. The Hawks have six players with at least 20 boards this year, led by senior Alex Bean with 52 and followed by junior Dylan Henry with 41, senior Shawn Dodds 39, junior Beau Flynn 36, sophomore Ace Peck 23 and senior Camron Pickard 20. Bean has a team best 33 boards on the defensive end and Dodds is the team leader with 20 of his coming on offense.

The Golden Hawks have also been prolific from downtown during the first part of the season, hitting 57 three pointers, seventh most in 2A. Top marksman from deep is Pickard with 15, followed by 13 from Bean, 10 from Collin Miller, nine from Dylan Henry and four each from Brady Weber and Ace Peck. Mid-Prairie is 5-3 on the year and 2-2 in the River Valley Conference. They start the second half of the season Monday when they travel to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines for a doubleheader with Denison-Schleswig in the Iowa Wolves High School Hoops Series.
