The Washington County Corn Growers Association has received recognition for their work in the area. The group was recognized by Iowa Corn Growers Association based on membership, and their activity at community events and parades.

Washington County chairman Marc Knupp says, once harvest begins, they’ll help the county’s 4-H program with the safety bags they bring to farmers working in the fields.

He explains they stay active throughout the year with the help of their board members: Dick Gallagher, Ryan Gallagher, Kurt Hora, Fred Greiner, Lance Bell and Nick Rogers.
