The Iowa National Guard will host a rededication ceremony for the Fairfield Readiness Center commemorating its completed renovation.

Originally constructed in 1957, the recent $2.4 million renovation of the Readiness Center included an almost total teardown and rebuild of the facility interior, as well as improvements to exterior features. Work included replacement of the roof membrane and some doors and windows, modernization of all finishes within the facility, and a reconfiguration of offices and classrooms. A recording control room, fitness room, and secure work area was added. The heating, ventilation, and cooling systems were also replaced with a modern, variable refrigerant flow system. Iowa National Guard senior leaders and representatives from federal, state, and local governments will participate in the ceremony. The public is invited to attend at 11 a.m. Saturday.
