The dedication and float trip of the Iowa River Water Trail scheduled for this weekend has been postponed until August.  Fast currents and low water temperatures have caused organizers to reschedule the event for August 6.  The dedication ceremony and float trip were to be held in Johnson and Louisa Counties this Saturday.

Department of Natural Resources officials say safety is always the first priority, and when currents move cold water at a fast pace, it can be dangerous to paddlers.  No changes have been made to the event, and the course of the float trip will remain the same.
