The Washington County Conservation Board and Izaak Walton League Chapter have come to an agreement on a property acquisition. The Ikes have officially deeded over the property to the Conservation Board for county ownership. The land will be considered an asset by the county and an appraisal of the property will have to be done. This means 20 acres of property in the Clemons Creek Wildlife and Recreation Area will now be county owned. Executive Director Zach Rozmus says it was a bittersweet moment for the Ikes, but both parties are excited for the future. The property will become an extension of Clemons Creek and will be able to be used as public recreation, such as hunting.
