Food costs have been trending up this year. As a result, Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar says it’s getting a little more expensive to feed inmates at the jail. Dunbar says the price charged by CBM, the company contracted to provide food service at the jail, went up by a little more than two percent. He says CBM had initially requested a nearly 4.5 percent hike. Dunbar says the county has a five year contract with CBM, but food prices can be negotiated on an annual basis.
