Power Outage Affects Some Customers in Kalona

The power is back on today after a power outage in Kalona yesterday afternoon.

Alliant Energy spokesman Justin Foss says the power failure was caused by a jumper connecting two larger cables together.

He says during the outage, about 500 customers were affected with some losing all of their power, and others having some power difficulties.

Foss says the outage started about 1:15 yesterday afternoon and full power was restored about 45 minutes later.
