Keokuk County Engineer Christy Van Buskirk gave the Keokuk County Board of Supervisors a surprise on Monday when she handed in her resignation. Van Buskirk announced that she has been hired by the Iowa Department of Transportation, and her last day will be Friday, February 11th. County Supervisor Michael Berg says they are now looking for a new engineer but in the meantime have asked for some part time assistance from Washington and Mahaska County Engineers to fill in until they do. Berg says he hates to see Van Buskirk go since she was a very good engineer.
