The lights will be shining brighter on ball players this summer as Keota Unlimited will be making improvements to Wilson Park.

The Washington County Riverboat Foundation gave a $44,000 grant for improvements to be made to the Keota ballfield lights, concession stand, restroom, and other amenities.

Keota Unlimited Vice President Erin McGuire explains how this will benefit the community, “Currently, out of all the cities that our ball league is involved in, a lot of them have very nice updated ballfields. And so we’d like to try to improve ours to be the same standard as those, so that it’s a little more welcoming for people that come and just put a better light on Keota and make us look a little bit more updated.”

Keota Unlimited also received donations from the Keota Ball Association and the City of Keota for the project, which is anticipated to be completed by May.
