Kitten heroes are needed. Kittens abandoned and found are brought to the animal shelter and now PAWS needs help caring for these young felines. Director of PAWS Amber Talbot says these little kittens that are brought in without their mother need to be bottle fed, “Those little guys need extra supportive care, and as far as our time at the shelter we don’t have the time to bottle feed. We really need families that have the time or if you’re retired and you’ve got the ability to bottle feed kitties. They really need about two to three hour increments of your time daily. And you can expect to usually have those guys until they’re about eight weeks old.”

Foster families work with the shelter, take home the kittens, and bring them in every couple of weeks for health and weight check ups. PAWS provides all of the supplies, Talbot says the foster provide the love. At about eight weeks old the kittens are then weaned. If you are interested, contact PAWS and More to volunteer.
