Washington County 4-H and Lincoln Elementary School in Washington are combining efforts to offer a science mini-camp. The camp later this month is called the ‘Week of Wind’ and it centers on students experimenting with science, mechanical engineering, and wind energy.

The camp is meant for fifth grade students.  They will diagram mechanical functions of machines, and use different shapes to design sails that catch wind for sail boats and windmill blades.  The camp also includes a trip to see a local wind turbine.  Registration forms are available at Lincoln or the Washington County Extension Office.  It will be filled on a first-come first served basis. The camp starts February 25.
