This season’s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North champions are looking to add another championship title to their resume tonight. The Lone Tree Lions boys basketball team (19-4 overall) will clash with the Marquette Catholic Mohawks of Bellevue(18-4 overall) in the Class 1A District 7 championship game this evening at Northwood High School.

The Lions advanced to the championship game edging the Easton Valley Riverhawks 50-46 in their district semifinal game Tuesday evening at Cedar Rapids Washington High School. Senior guard Nick Viner scored a team-high 14 points, while sophomore guard Jovonte Squires added 13 points in the victory.

Marquette Catholic has cruised into the district final by winning their previous two postseason games by a 16 point margin. Mohawk senior Logan Schroeder is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 16.9 points per game.
