Two long-term care facilities in Iowa and Keokuk Counties have seen COVID-19 outbreaks this week according to the Iowa Department of Public Health. As of Thursday, Colonial Manor of Amana in Iowa County has seen 10 positive cases among residents and staff. Two of those individuals have recovered. Sigourney Health Care in Keokuk County has seen three positive cases among residents and staff, and one individual has recovered. 

 

In total, Iowa County has had 284 positive COVID-19 cases, 153 have recovered, and one person has died. Keokuk County has had 126 positive cases, 80 have recovered, and one individual has died. 

 

The IDPH recommends individuals keep at least six feet of distance between yourself and those not in your household, wash your hand frequently, wear a face mask in public spaces, and stay home when you are showing symptoms of the virus.
