Louisa County Extension and Louisa Development Group have partnered in an effort to increase the time and money spent on economic development.

Louisa County Extension has hired Angela Shipley, MBA, as the new executive director for Louisa Development Group, who under the guidance of the LDG Board and extension director will implement strategies to meet the goals of the board in the areas of agriculture, industry and manufacturing, retail, service, and tourism.

Shipley shares her first project as executive director, “Initially, my goal is kind of the general rebranding of Louisa Development Group as a whole. So I’m working on a new website and I kind of discussed the untapped potential within the county, but a new website is planned to kind of highlight attractions on all of the levels I discussed, so attraction of visitors into the area, attraction of residents, and also industry.”

A Burlington resident, Shipley owned a small business for 15 years and worked in economic development for Henry County. She looks forward to increasing visibility for Louisa County businesses and improving community development.
