midprairie-3

The Mid-Prairie School District has announced plans to provide students and their families with food during the schools’ closure in response to novel coronavirus. The school will begin this plan starting March 25th and parents will need to complete a survey by Monday at 3 p.m. This is for the school district to better prepare for the number of meals needed and to prepare for driving accommodations. There are six places the food can be picked up, including: Kalona Mennonite Church, the grass lot near downtown east of chamber building, Wellman Mennonite Church, Wellman First Baptist Church, West Chester Heritage Building, and the HomeSchool Education Center in Kalona. This service will be free and available until at least April 8th. Families will be able to pick up food on Mondays and Wednesdays, and packages include meals for all days of the school week. If a family cannot find transportation to a pickup area, the school will make arrangements to deliver food to them. Deliveries will only be available to those within the district.
