It was a tough road trip Wednesday to Winegard Field in Burlington for the Iowa Mennonite School baseball team as they dropped a contest to the Notre Dame Nikes 12-1 in five innings.

Despite having a base runner in every frame the IMS offense wasn’t able to put anything on the board until the fifth when Reggie Borntrager’s RBI single to right field scored Cambridge Hathaway. Burlington Notre Dame scored in each of their four at bats including one in the first, two in the second, four in the third and five in the fifth.

IMS was led at the plate by Borntrager with a hit and an RBI. Drakre Brezina took the loss on the hill going two plus innings, giving up three hits, four runs, walking three and striking out one. With the loss IMS falls to 1-2 on the year.
