Today is Nurses Day and Washington County Hospital and Clinics is honoring their 60 nurses in a special way. Bonnie Kester, Chief Nursing Officer says they did a special project with the nurses. She says they created a scrapbook where all of the nurses contributed on what made them choose a nursing career, why they chose to stay in Washington as well as what they like about working at WCHC.
Kester mentions it has been a really good team building process. She says they will have new nurses add to this scrapbook in the future.
Kester says all of the nurses will receive in a special gift which includes the Nightingale Pledge from 1893. She says nurses are extremely important in patient care and all of them have a great working relationship with the doctors.
