A group of students promoting awareness of alcohol abuse prevention is putting on an auction to raise funds.  The KC STAAR Project, or Keokuk County Schools Tactics on Alcohol Abuse Reduction, is a group of about 60 students in the four Keokuk County school districts that encourage their peers to avoid alcohol and promote safety.

Project Director Lynne Zoulek says their latest fundraising effort involves an online auction much like eBay.  She says some of the items up for auction include jewelry, gift certificates, vacation packages, and local sports memorabilia.

The auction takes place completely online.  It begins tomorrow morning at 9:00 and ends Friday, September 30 at 8:00 p.m.
