New surveillance equipment is being installed in Washington County buildings, and an addition was approved Tuesday. The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved adding Building #1 at Orchard Hill, which houses HACAP services, to the access control and video surveillance system. County Auditor Dan Widmer said the request was reviewed by the county attorney’s office, “The bid that we received that we accepted, even adding this in which is about a $35,000 price tag to include Building 1 would still result in them having the lowest bid.” Widmer added that HACAP will pay for the work.

In June, the supervisors awarded the bid to Tri City Electric for $526,016 for the system that will include the courthouse, the jail, and buildings 3 and 4 at the Orchard Hill Complex.
