Iowa’s former Lieutenant Governor Patty Judge is running for U.S. Senate against Republican Chuck Grassley in November. Judge won the Democratic nomination in Tuesday’s primary over Rob Hogg, Tom Fiegen and Bob Krause. Judge said she decided to run for the seat earlier this year, after she’d been unhappy with Grassley moving farther right on the political spectrum and he said he wouldn’t hold hearings to fill the supreme court justice position.

Wednesday, Judge visited Washington and shared with KCII News she’s focused on issues impacting middle class families, like job security and raising the minimum wage. Judge also wants social security to not be privatized and she wants to work on lowering the cost of education.
