Columbus Pitcher Rachel Pierce was dealing in the circle Monday night as the Wildcats took a Southeast Iowa Super Conference game with IMS 8-2. In a game heard on KCII, Pierce allowed just one hit and struck out 13 on the night. The hit was actually a bunt single by Gretchen Geyer with one out in the seventh. IMS was able to scratch out a run in the fourth inning as Mo Brenneman reached on a walk, stole two bases and came in on an RBI ground out by Geyer. The other IMS run came when Geyer scored in the seventh on an RBI ground out by Megan Haifley. On the Columbus side, the Wildcats used the middle innings to do their damage scoring three each in the second and fourth innings and two more in the third led by two RBI’s from Kyndal Milder and two runs scored by Kenzie Griffin. With the loss IMS falls to 3-6 overall, Columbus stands at 4-4 on the season.
