The Iowa State Extension will be putting on Pork Quality Assurance Plus Training next week at the Williamsburg Farm Bureau. Tom Miller with the extension who is teaching the class says the training talks about raising pigs in a welfare friendly status and to ensure the safety of the pork. Miller says it is a voluntary program but that is changing. He says with the higher standards set by the food industry it has become almost mandatory for producers to be PQA certified to be able to find a market. The training is Tuesday November 16th from 9:30 to 11:30am at the Williamsburg Farm Bureau Basement office for any adult.
