The postseason begins for two area basketball teams tonight as Iowa Mennonite School girls’ team travels to the Eagles Nest in Keota to take on the Eagles.
IMS comes into this game averaging just 31.7 points per game. They enter the postseason just breaking off a nine-game losing streak getting a victory against Harmony in their final regular season basketball game, 47-26. Senior Riley Schmieder leads the team with an average of 12.9 points per game.
The Eagles come into the playoffs on a two-game winning streak. As a team they are averaging 41 points per points. Keota has two senior players who average in double figures. Madison Sheetz is averaging 13 points per game and is shooting 42.4 percent from the field. Madison Sieren averages 10.2 points per game and is the Eagles’ best free throw shooter at 73.8 percent.
