The Washington School Board received a proposed calendar for next school year during their regular meeting.  The calendar offers suggestions of 18 days of early dismissals and 5 full days for professional staff development.  The early dismissals could happen every other Wednesday with the full days for professional development happening at various times throughout the school year.

This change would result in the district changing from an innovative calendar and would mean the district would be in session for 178 days.  Two parent-teacher conference days would still be planned.

The school board approved the plan of the staff development time and will consider adopting the calendar at their next meeting in March.
