A public meeting is being held for those with questions about the proposed four-lane reconstruction of U.S. 61 in Louisa County. Tonight, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will hold an open forum meeting from 5 to 7pm at the Louisa- Muscatine Elementary School. No formal presentation will be made, but there will be displays, and Iowa DOT staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Jason Huddle, with the Iowa DOT, says the main reasons for this reconstruction would be to address safety concerns, to connect the four lanes from Burlington up to Muscatine County, and to create economic development.
