You don’t need a background in construction to help with the renovation of a home in Kalona tomorrow. Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to assist with the interior demolition and remodeling of the home at 121 A Avenue.

Those who choose to volunteer will be trained and given the tools needed to complete the tasks assigned during their shifts. No prior construction experience is needed.

Mark Patton, executive director of the organization, says it will take up to 450 man hours, or 10 Saturdays, to complete the project. Their goal is to have the donated home ready to occupy by midsummer. The home was moved from its original location in rural Tiffin at the beginning of the year.
