New Deputy Clerk for Riverside Chosen

Riverside has been looking at hiring a Deputy Clerk, a new position for the city, to help around the office and fill in when someone takes time off or has a sick day. At their meeting on Thursday night the council chose one applicant for that position. Teresa Sladek is now Riversides new Deputy Clerk.

The Riverside City Council held a special meeting last night. The council decided who to offer the Deputy Clerk postilion to at this meeting. Mayor Bill Poch says they have been looking at hiring someone for this position for about a month.

Power Outage

Shortly before noon today Alliant Energy Reported 2478 customers without power in Washington County and 18 without power in Johnson County.  Listener reports indicate outages in the Kalona, Richmond and Riverside areas.  Power was restored at 2:00 p.m. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
