Road construction in Washington County will be causing delays starting next week.  Washington County Engineer David Patterson says Wayland Road will be closed to through traffic south of Washington from Coppock Road to Fern Cliff Road for the construction of paved shoulders.  Patterson notes Coppock Road will be the signed detour route.

He adds this project is being funded with $500,000 from the Federal “High Risk Rural Roads” program as well as a $250,000 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.  Patterson says the paving project will begin next Wednesday and should be completed in approximately three to four weeks depending on the weather.
