All consolation matches have wrapped up in Des Moines. Action will begin later this evening with the championship matches for all weight classes. This is a full recap of the consolation sessions with final placement for area wrestlers and a look ahead at area wrestlers involved in tonight’s championship matches:

Class 1A

At 195lbs No. 2 Kaleb Reeves of Sigourney-Keota pins No. 7 Wes Geisler of Hudson in consolation action. Reeves finishes in seventh place.

At 220lbs No. 8 Noah Boender of Sigourney-Keota fell to No. 2 Tom Rief of Missouri Valley by 9-7 decision. Boender finishes in  fourth place.

At 285lbs No. 8 Cody Crawford of WACO falls to Chase Arends of Dike-New Hartford by 5-3 decision. Crawford finishes in eighth place.

Class 2A

At 126lbs, No. 6 Kyle Anderson of Washington falls to No.4 Dante Tacchia of Iowa Falls Alden by 5-0 decision. Anderson finishes in sixth place.

At 145lbs, No. 6 Austin Hazelett of Washington falls to No. 4 Mitchel Swank of Creston-Orient-Macksburg by  6-3 decision. Hazelett finishes in sixth place.

At 160lbs, No. 6 Tristin Westphal-Edwards of Washington beats Kyle Sinnott of Albia by an 8-1 decision. Westphal-Edwards finishes in seventh place.

At 170lbs, No. 3 Tucker Morrison of Columbus beats No. 8 Noah Glaser of New Hampton by 4-2 decision. Morrison finishes in fifth place.

At 182lbs, No. 2 Visouth Peterschmidt of Mid-Prairie is pinned by No. 8 Boone McDermott of Dubuque Wahlert in 1:18. Peterschmidt finishes in fourth place.

Championship Saturday Night Schedule

At 106lbs, No. 5 Jarod Kadel of Columbus will wrestle 48-1 No. 1 Graeson Kesterson of Williamsburg for the class 2A state championship.

At 152lbs, No. 6 Trey Van Weelden of Washington will wrestle 45-4 No. 2 Isaac Judge of South Tama for the class 2A state championship.
