The Southeast Iowa Superconference track and field championships will be held tonight at Columbus Junction.

Due to the cold weather last week, they rescheduled this event for today, the same week as districts. The SEISC coaches talked to KCII during the coaches corner on Saturday, and while some seemed reluctant to run everyone at the conference meet, most seemed okay to place the best runners in the events that they should run.

Winfield-Mt. Union head girl’s coach Allyson McCarty thinks her girls has what it takes to run hard at both meets.

“I’m not too concerned about our recovery there, I think we’ll be fine running Monday, Thursday. [it’s] just a crazy season there way it’s been, we haven’t been able to get a lot of meets in so we’re excited to run,” McCarty said. “So we’ll see what we can put together and what we can get conference titles in on Monday night, and then we’ll turn around and prepare for Thursday. So we’re just hoping for good weather, keep everybody healthy and finish out the season strong.”

Tonight’s meet is at Columbus Junction at 4:30.
