KCII News spoke with US Senator Chuck Grassley about the bipartisan border bill. Here are his thoughts on the bill, “One of the reasons it didn’t pass the United States Senate, is because it still allowed four thousand people a day to cross the border. Don’t forget that this bill was written with the idea that it was going to solve the border problems, and when the bill finally came out, and negotiated in a bipartisan way between three Senators, a Republican, a Democrat, and an Independent, you found out that there were so many exceptions and waivers that the President could initiate not to use the legislation.” This bill makes various changes to immigration law, including by imposing limits on asylum eligibility and requiring employers to use an electronic system to verify the employment eligibility of new employees.
