It’s Senior night for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks (3-4 overall; 2-3 in district) as they try to break their two game losing streak. They go back to Wellman to play against the winless West Liberty Comets.

Mid-Prairie Football Coach Pete Cavanagh feels like they are focused and ready to play better for tonight’s game, “Knowing what the stakes are, we have to win this football game for playoff consideration and the kids realize that.” Mid-Prairie can sum up at least a playoff berth with a win against the Comets tonight.

The Golden Hawks comes into this match up struggling on offense, only scoring 13 points in the past six quarters. This game may be what the doctor ordered though, as the Comets have given up an average of 35 points per game. The Comets have also struggled on offense averaging only 11 points each game and is dead last in the district in rushing.

You can catch the game tonight starting with the Washington Hy-Vee pregame show at 6:30 on AM1380, FM102.5 and on KCIIradio.com.
