Students in Washington County delivered 200 packages to area farmers to help them stay safe during harvest. The “Stay Safe, Take a Break” bags were taken to farmers across the county by Washington County 4-H volunteers. The reusable bags included safety literature, granola bars, bottled water, safety glasses, reflectors, emergency contact signs, gloves, a first aid kit, ear plugs, flash lights and more. The bags serve as a reminder to stay safe during this busy time of year by refueling and resting, while showing appreciation for the work farmers do throughout the area. The annual project is made possible by several community sponsors.
