Warm temperatures led to plenty of fun in the sun at the Steele Family Aquatic Center this summer.

Amy Schulte with the Washington YMCA tells KCII News that a total of 8,270 people visited the facility this summer, with June outpacing the other months, seeing 3,747 people come through the turnstiles. The aquatic center also accommodated 126 individuals for group lessons, 52 for private lessons, 19 members of the summer swim team and hosted 400 people for the free swim day during the Washington Classic in June.

In the 2017 season the Steele Family Aquatic Center served 11,441 patrons.
