Concerns about the weather caused the Washington boys’ track team to move their meet to early next week. The inaugural Steve Roth Relays was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 23rd at Case Field. Roth, in his 41st season as Demon boys’ track coach, has decided to move the meet up two days to Tuesday afternoon. He made the decision yesterday morning after looking at next week’s forecasted weather for Washington.

According to AccuWeather, Washington’s forecast for Tuesday calls for mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 51 degrees. There’s a chance for showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon. Roth tells KCII Sports running events will begin at 3:30 p.m. and field events will start at 3:45 p.m.

Teams set to compete in the meet include Cedar Rapids Prairie, Columbus Community, Danville, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Highland, Iowa City High, Keota, Mediapolis, Mount Pleasant, WACO, West Burlington-Notre Dame, and Wapello.
