An agreement has been reached on Stringtown Grocery’s proposal to open a new store.

The proposed grocery store would be located next to the existing one, but twice the size. This made the proposal a reason for dispute, because the store would most likely cause an increase in traffic on the road in front of the store.

The agreement the Johnson County Board of Supervisors came to has Stringtown paying a one time fee of $35,000 when the road needs to be repaved and $1,250 annually for the upkeep on the chipseal road. The second fee has to be paid regardless of whether or not repairs are made.
