The Keota Community School District Board of education met on Thursday and one of their main focuses was on finances. Superintendent Mark Schneider says business manager Cindy Stagee reviewed with the board the current state of the district saying that Keota along with other school districts was hit hard last year in the state budget cut. He says she also told the board about some of the things that the district has been trying to do to become more efficient. Schneider says the board also discussed the education jobs fund, taking a wait and see approach if they needed the money later in the year.
