Washington County’s Engineer has been named to leadership in the National Association of County Engineers. Jacob Thorius was installed as the South-Central Region Vice President at their recent annual meeting. His term will run through April of 2020. The association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan group with over 2,400 county road officials and is in its 62nd year. Thorius has been the Washington County Engineer since 2012 and is also involved as a member of the executive board of the Iowa County Engineers Association, as well as safety committees and the Iowa Highway Research Board.
